Charakterystyka Rośliny
Tawułki to rośliny wieloletnie z silnymi kłączami, czasami z rozłogami. Liście pierzasto złożone, rzadko pojedyncze, ciemnozielone, brązowo-zielone lub wielokolorowe, matowe lub błyszczące w zależności od gatunku i odmiany. Rośliny różnią się wysokością od 25 cm (Astilbe chinensis var. pumila) do 100 cm (różne odmiany Astilbe x arendsii). Świetnie nadają się do okrywania miejsc cienistych. Niższe odmiany nadają się do ogrodów skalnych i do okrywania miejsc cienistych. Można uprawiać je na kwiat cięty, ale kwiaty nie są zbyt trwałe. Doskonale nadają się do uprawy w pojemnikach.
